Methamphetamine Facts
Briefly;
Methamphetamine is a stimulant and it is very easily manufactured from commonly available ingredients.
Methamphetamine use, AKA, Meth, Ice, Crank, Speed, Tik, etc, has become incredibly prevalent in our society with users represented across all socioeconomic demographics.
Use is now so widespread that an Ice user, may no longer looks like the stereotypical drug user.
Whilst we often think meth contamination only occurs in a Clandestine Lab, new studies show that meth residue remains present in a property where even light to moderate use has taken place
Once contaminated a property remains contaminated until it is correctly cleaned. Meth doesn’t evaporate or dissipate over time.
The Australian Safe exposure limit is a very low 0.5ug of Methamphetamine over 100 cm2.
Making or “cooking” meth is very easy. If you can bake a cake then you can cook meth.
Everything required to cook meth is readily available
Meth Cooks have become a lot more sophisticated and to an untrained eye a home used to cook meth might look no different to a non contaminated property.
Police estimate they only find a small percentage of Clandestine Labs or Cook Houses.
Contamination, is not limited to houses, more and more cars are showing up on the second hand market with Meth levels well above safe limits.
